About the flag of Mauritania
The flag of Mauritania — officially Islamic Republic of Mauritania — is flown in a 2:3 ratio. Mauritania sits in Africa, and its flag is part of the standard set used in every quiz on this site.
The current design dates from 2017. Mauritania has its capital at Nouakchott and a population of about 5.3 million, figures that come from the same dataset the quizzes are built on.
As an emoji the flag is 🇲🇷, produced from the regional indicator letters for MR. The dedicated emoji page has the codepoints, HTML entity, CSS value and shortcode if you need to paste it somewhere.
